How to enroll in Everlasting Hope and what is available to them?

Please find below the list of required documents:

  • Case Summary/Referral
  • Birth Certificate
  • Medical Abstract
  • Medical Protocol
  • Valid Identification of the Parents/Guardian
  • Full Body Photograph of the Child

These documents shall be submitted to Everlasting Hope, located at Topaz St., Francisca Village, 6th St., Happy Valley, Guadalupe, Cebu City, Cebu Submissions are accepted from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, except on Tuesdays, which are reserved for staff meetings.

Family Support

What support do we have available for families?

These programs are designed to provide comprehensive support to children undergoing treatment and their families:

Home Away From Home
Offers temporary shelter for families while availing medical care in Cebu City.

Transportation Services
Provides transportation for families to and from medical appointments and nearby institutions assisting cancer patients.

Emotional and Spiritual Care
Provides emotional and spiritual care through prayer, daily family devotions, Bible studies, worship services, counseling, and support groups, helping parents navigate the challenges of their child’s illness while offering a sense of hope and
community.

Home and Hospital Visitations
Ensures that families not staying in the temporary shelter receive support by assessing the child’s needs and providing necessary assistance.

Informal Learning
Supplements children’s education during their treatment, helping families support their child’s learning.

Medical Crisis Support
Assists families in managing costly hospital bills, medical procedures, laboratory tests, and medicines.

Nutritional Supplement
Provides families with food, milk, vitamins, and meals to meet the child’s nutritional needs.

Special Events and Recreational Activities
Engages families in activities such as Celebration of Life, End-of-Treatment celebrations, self-care events, and field trips or recreational activities for children.

Grant-A-Wish
Grants the wishes of children under palliative care, at the end of treatment, or in the maintenance phase, bringing joy to families during difficult times.

Youth Fellowship (Friday Afternoon)
Creates a space for spiritual growth, connection, and encouragement for youth ages 10 to 25 years old.

What support do we have for siblings?

This program seeks to offer holistic support to families facing a health crisis, making sure that not only the patient but also their siblings receive the care and attention they need.

Emotional and Spiritual Care
Includes prayer, daily family devotions, Bible studies, worship services, counseling, and support groups. Siblings are welcome to participate, offering them emotional and spiritual support to help cope with the stress of their sibling’s illness.

Psychosocial Care
Features expressive arts and play therapy, allowing siblings to process their emotions and what they are going through in a creative way.

Informal Learning
Provides siblings affected by the family’s situation with informal learning programs to help them continue their education while their sibling undergoes treatment, ensuring they stay on track academically.

Special Events and Recreational Activities
Siblings can join events such as Celebration of Life or other special events, giving them moments of joy and relief. Field trips and recreational activities provide a break from stress and create opportunities for fun bonding moments.

Back-to-School Program
This program provides school supplies to siblings returning to school, ensuring they are academically supported as well.

Handog Pamasko Gifts
Extends Christmas gifts to siblings as an expression of compassion, making sure they also feel valued and joyful during the holiday season.

Nutritional Supplement
Provides siblings with meals, milk, vitamins, and other nutritional support to help them stay healthy while navigating family challenges.

Home and Hospital Visitations
Ensures siblings receive visits to assess their emotional needs and provide support, helping them cope effectively with the situation.

About Childhood Cancer

What is Childhood Cancer?

Childhood Cancer or Pediatric Cancer describes a group of cancers that affect children (infants to age 14) and teenagers (age 15 to 19). Childhood Cancer isn’t common, but when it happens, it changes the lives of children with the condition, their parents and caregivers.

Early Signs and Symptoms of Childhood Cancer

  • Continued Unexplained Weight Loss

  • Headaches (often with early morning vomiting)

  • Increased Swelling or Persistent Pain on child’s bones, joints, back or legs

  • Lump or Mass on child’s belly or abdomen, neck, chest, pelvis or armpits

  • Development of Excessive Bruising, Bleeding or Rash

  • Constant, Frequent or Persistent Infections

  • A Whitish Color behind the Pupil of a Child’s Eye

  • Nausea that persists or vomiting without having nausea

  • Constant Tiredness/Fatigue or Noticeable Paleness

  • Eye or Vision Changes that occurs suddenly or persists

  • Recurring or Persistent Fevers of Unknown Origin (not associated with Flu or other Common Illnesses)
