We are beyond thrilled to celebrate 20 precious children who have completed their cancer treatment! Each of these children and their families have a unique story that makes them who they are, yet they all share a common thread in that they never gave up in the midst of extremely challenging times. Having a child with cancer in the Philippines comes with many challenges. Not only are families faced with overwhelming debt after years of treatment, but their child will continue to have check ups for a period of 5-10 years. At each check-up, the family hopes and prays that their child’s cancer has not reoccured and that one day they will hear the doctor say: “Your child is now a cancer survivor!” We will continue to believe alongside these families that their child will remain cancer-free and grow up to fulfill all of their hopes and dreams. Each child and family would not have made it if it were not for the families, friends, medical care teams, agencies, partners, and donors who supported them along their journey.
