Children with Cancer More Vulnerable During COVID-19

These are uncertain times. Yet, the one thing that we can always be certain of is the Lord is our strength and ever present help in times of need. May you feel His presence and know that He loves and cares deeply for you, your family, and this COVID-19 pandemic.

We continue to help meet the needs of children with cancer who are even more vulnerable during a time like this. The Everlasting HOPE Cebu Center remains open and is currently housing 10 children with cancer and their family members. We also continue to serve our community-based children in the best way that we can, while ensuring the safety of our children, families, and team.

Children with cancer must continue their treatments during this pandemic, which means they continue going to the hospital. Families are afraid of what may happen to their child. They are contacting us for help. They need help with transportation, securing medicines, blood donors, and financial assistance with their medical bills.

We are thankful that our families are also reaching out to us for prayer and emotional support and for the technology that allows us to support them the best way we can.  We are also thankful to have been able to hand out more than 60 food packs to our families and for the generous sponsors who are allowing us to provide nutritious meals to our childrena and families.

Many organizations that would normally provide help to our families are overburdened, have limited staff, or are currently closed, leaving our families in even more of a hardship. Please pray for favor of our team as we advocate for these families to get transportation, lowered bills, and support of the hospitals in allowing their children to be discharged with remaining balances. We are doing what we can to assist financially, but the bills and expenses far reach our capacity.

We continue to know and trust that we have a HUGE GOD who has no limits and knows every need of our children, families, and the ministry of Everlasting HOPE.
