Naga, Cebu was hit with a tragic landslide in September leaving a community with a loss of more than 75 people, thousands homeless living within evacuation centers, and in despair.

One of our children with cancer and his family of seven were directly impacted.  They were forced to leave their home and have no idea when they will be able to return.  Due to high risk of infection while having cancer, it was not feasible to stay within the overcrowded evacuation center.  We offered the Everlasting HOPE Center, but due to the other children’s schooling in Naga, they needed to remain within their community.  So, the family started renting a house, but due to lack of funds, were forced to return back to the evacuation center.

Our team responded the day of the landslide heading to Naga to bring them hope.  After our visit, we posted a caption on Facebook and are so touched by someone who felt led to help this family.  Within 24 hours of this family returning back to the evacuation center, someone blessed this family with practical needs of groceries and rice and also gave a financial donation that allowed them to return back to their rental home.  God’s timing was so perfect to move on the heart of this donor to help this family and to bring them HOPE!

Please pray for this community for all that they have lost, that families will return back to their homes, and they would see glimmers of hope through the hearts of individuals willing to help!

May we continue to touch one child – one family – and reach an entire community!
